About Me

Woodworking has been a passion of mine since I was a kid growing up in Newfoundland, and would deconstruct things just so I could rebuild them. In High School, I maximized the space in my tiny bedroom by building myself a loft bed out of my Dad's workshop. Shortly after, I combined woodworking with my other passion, drumming, and taught myself to build a snare drum from scratch.

After flying the nest and landing in Toronto, I built out my first shop. It was a 40 sqft basement cellar that leaked worse than a bad marketing scheme, but it was mine, and I loved it.

When the pandemic hit, a reduced load at work meant that I had the opportunity to spend more time in my shop – now a 120 sqft windowless basement room. My friends and family had been telling me to film my work for years, so I finally succumbed to peer pressure and launched my YouTube channel in 2020.

Now I'm stoked to be operating out of a tiny 220 sqft single-car garage that I renovated myself. I often cater to audiences with small shops because that's what I know best. I hope that through watching my trials and errors in the shop, by sharing my expertise, discoveries, and designs, I can inspire other hobbyist woodworkers to explore and expand their own craft.

The Jobsite Station is the setup I wish I'd had when I started. I built it in my single car garage because that's all I've got, and it works.

FAQ

Is this course for me?

Yes. This course is designed for woodworkers of all levels, particularly beginner to intermediate home hobbyists.

Are the PDF build plans available separately from the course?

Unfortunately no, the build plans are not available separately from the course at this time.

Will I be able to ask for help?

Yes! At the bottom of every lesson there is a place to ask questions and I'll do my best to respond to every single one in a timely manner.

Does this work with my jobsite table saw?

Almost certainly yes. The station is designed around the DeWalt 7491 10" table saw, which matched with other common jobsite saw footprints. The plans also include guidance on fitting your specific saw. If you can bolt it down, it'll work.

Does this work with a contractor-style table saw?

No, this is designed for a jobsite-style table saw.

What vacuums fit in the small cubby?

  • DeWalt DCV581H
  • Evolution R15VAC
  • Ridgid HD0300
  • Shop-Vac 5872911 (Will be tight)
  • Festool MIDI (Have to remove the hose garage with 4 screws)

Do I need a mitre saw?

Nope. I don't use a mitre saw in the course. There are a few cuts where it would be handy to have, but this doesn't come up often as a lot of the cuts that are too large for the table saw are also too large for the mitre saw.

Do I need a jointer, planer, or bandsaw?

Nope.

I work in metric. Are the metric plans just converted imperial?

Nope. The metric version is built around metric-country plywood dimensions. It's not a straight conversion. It's a proper redesign.

Can I use different casters and levelling feet?

I do not recommend changing the levelling feet and casters to something else due to safety reasons. The integrated caster/levelling feet by Vevor that I recommend are a good price and will result in a stable result.

How long do I have access to the course content?

There is no restriction for how long you have access to the course materials.

Can I download the videos?

Unfortunately, due to a few surprising attempts to pirate my paid content already (I know, I'm a pretty big deal), the course videos are not available for download. But the PDF plans are downloadable and printable for reference in your shop if you do not have internet access there.

What happens after I make the purchase?

You will receive an order confirmation email. You will also receive a second email with a link to access the course content. Please make an account on the website to be able to return to the course whenever you like, without having to search through your email.

I didn't get any emails?

Check your spam folder. C'mon, this is basic stuff. If not, there, then make an account using the same email you used to purchase the course by clicking the head and shoulders icon in the header.
